Canonical closes the online storage Ubuntu One

Several unexpected news came recently from companies such as Canonical, reported on her official blog about discontinuing the “cloud” storage Ubuntu One and related services, including for data synchronization and music streaming. While the developers called the decision a “difficult”because users are quite counted on functionality, which provides the Ubuntu One. However, the Canonical now I have other priorities.

Among projects and directions which are now concentrated in Canonical, you can call the mobile sphere (including solutions for smartphones and tablets)and desktop products and developer tools under these systems. Add that to the services Ubuntu One is planned to disconnect from June 1, and all user data will be available until July 31, after which they will be deleted. At the same time it is planned to publish in open access to the full source code of this project, which will benefit those who wish to create their own platform for synchronizing files between various gadgets and systems and individuals.
