Only a third of Russian Internet users pay for content

According to the study OnLife for the 1st half of 2014 the company Synovate Comcon the vast majority of active Internet users downloaded or viewed online movies, videos, music or books. A high proportion of those who played games online (68%). Equally high proportion of read online versions of Newspapers/magazines, watching TV over the Internet, and listen to the radio online all three categories at the level of 70%.

However, only one third of respondents paid for a particular type of content on the Internet. Of these, only 6% were paid for the subscription media content or access to archival materials. Users often spend money on games, apps for smartphones/PDAs and software.
The average for the three month for the content of Internet users spend 556 rubles. The highest costs are for the purchase of the software and download the materials on highly specialized topics. The lowest – purchase applications for smartphones and music.
