Samsung has announced a 20-nm eight-core Exynos 5430
The use of technology 20nm HKMG (High-K/Metal Gate) has allowed Samsung to not only increase productivity but also to reduce the power consumption of the chip. But it is worth noting that the Exynos 5430 still uses the configuration of ARM big.LITTLE, which combines a Quad-core Cortex-A15 (with a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz and Quad-core Cortex-A7 (with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz). Supported technology HMP (Heterogeneous Multi-Processing), which allows to use all eight cores simultaneously. From the graphics accelerator new chipset presents familiar to us ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU (533 MHz), which can work with permissions WQHD (2560 x 1440) and WQXGA (2560 x 1600).
The new chipset from Samsung also has a codec Multi Format Codec H.265 decoder, dual processor image signal and a separate co-processor Seiren for audio decoding. To save energy the system uses technologies such as Mobile Image Compression and Adaptive Hibernation Display. The first smartphone, which will be applied new chip Samsung Exynos 5430, will become the Alpha Galaxy.
