Samsung EYECAN+ will replace the mouse for people with disabilities

About two and a half years ago, experts Samsung Electronics has created a rather unusual device called EYECAN designed for people with serious illnesses and disabilities that are due to lesions of the musculoskeletal system are not able to use the computer mouse. And now the South Korean technology giant has officially unveiled the next generation of this development, which has a number of advantages in comparison with the predecessor.

As the first generation device called the Samsung EYECAN+ enables people with severe disease, bedridden, to perform certain operations on a computer, say, edit, and print documents, to do web surfing, and so on, using only eye movements and thereby controlling the mouse pointer. However, unlike its predecessor in the improved system should not be put on the eyes of the user special glasses, which, as you know, is very important.
In fact Samsung EYECAN+ represents a single small block located directly below the display before the eyes of the customer, and all management there is only “power look”. This Korean company has no plans to commercialize this project, and the device will be produced in limited quantities, at least as long as it will not show interest relevant organizations and foundations.
