20 October 2001 the company Matsushita Electric Industrial has introduced a 100 GB DVD-ROM. At the international conference on optical discs in Taipei, Taiwan, they reported the development of two-sided optical rewritable disc with a capacity of 100 GB. Alas, these discs were incompatible with existing DVD devices. The new disk was double-layer and double-sided, the capacity of each party, respectively, 50 GB. For a tight focus were used violet lasers with an aperture of 0.85 and the coating of the disc thickness of 0.1 nm. In fact, innovation was the first step to the invention of the Blu-Ray format, which the commercial launch occurred in 2006 and still in use today.

October 20, 2006, Intel announced Centrino Pro. The company told about their plans on the integration of vPro technology in a mobile platform Santa Rosa. Professional version of the new platform was named Centrino Pro and a supported second generation of Intel Active Management Technology and Intel virtualization technology VT. PC used in addition to the North bridge 965GM/PM Express ICH8 South-Enchanced with Gigabit Ethernet LAN controller Intel 82566MM. For the promotion of Centrino Pro Intel was going to spend 300 million dollars. In addition to the Centrino Pro Intel announced that among the processors on the Santa Rosa platform won’t be models with a system bus frequency of 667 MHz, that is, excluded from the starting line Core 2 Duo T5500.
