2016 MWC: Qualcomm and Ericsson have agreed to 5G

At MWC 2016, which takes place in Barcelona from 22 to 25 February 2016, Qualcomm and Ericsson spoke about the agreement on technological cooperation for the development and implementation of the communication standard 5G.

Companies are going to jointly develop, conduct early tests will work together to implement a number of initiatives with leading mobile operators. At the moment there are plans to conduct the first tests for compatibility and negotiations with operators. We will remind, in December of 2015 MTS and Ericsson announced plans in 2018 will test 5G in a special area on the world football Championship-2018 in Russia. Huawei and MegaFon plan to test a new standard in the world football Championship 2018.
Theoretically, 5G network will receive speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, 30 times greater than the 4G. As planned, the international telecommunication Union, the standard will be implemented by 2020.
