This scanner does not require a separate button on the front panel or a separate area at the back of the smartphone. The user will be enough to put a finger at the smartphone display to complete the authentication.
To install the module with the back surface of the display glass is cut a layer thickness of 0.3 mm. as a result, the sensor does not protrude beyond the glass inside the smartphone and does not require increasing the thickness of the device.
Officially the timing of the introduction of such modules in smartphones has yet to be announced, but the representative hinted LG Innotek Korea Times reporters that the company is in talks with several smartphone manufacturers to bring development to the market during the year.
Note that in early 2015, Apple patented the use of the display as a fingerprint scanner.
