Smartphone shipments fell for the first time in history

Research firm Strategy Analytics said the first ever decline in the global market of smartphones in comparison with the previous year. In the first quarter of 2016, smartphone shipments internationally amounted to 335 million units, which accounted for a decrease of 3 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

According to Linda sue (Linda Sui, Director at Strategy Analytics, this happened for the first time since the inception of the modern smartphone market in 1996. As reasons for the decline is the saturation of these markets, such as China, as well as the buyers concern in the future of the world economy.
Samsung is the leader with a share of 23.6 per cent, its supply has reached 79 million, almost 4 million less than first quarter of 2015. Apple ranked second with 15.3% of 51.2 million iPhones sold. In third place is Huawei with 8 percent and 28.3 million in sales, the fourth – Oppo from 5% to 15.5 million, the fifth – Xiaomi with 4% and 14.6 million
