IDC analysts prepared a report for the fourth quarter of 2019 and for the whole year in the market of Ethernet switches (Layer 2/3) and enterprise-class routers. According to analysts, the sales of switches in the fourth quarter amounted to $ 7.6 billion, which is 2.1% less in annual terms. For the entire 2019 year, switches were sold for $ 28.8 billion, which corresponds to an increase of 2.3% compared to 2018. Routers for the quarter were sold at $ 4.2 billion, which is 7.7% less in annual terms. In total, $ 15.5 billion was sold during the year of routers. This is only 0.4% more than in 2018. Cisco is the largest supplier of this equipment. The top five also include Huawei, Arista Networks, HPE and Juniper.
