The first live photos of the flagship smartphone OnePlus 8 Pro, which should enter the market next month, have appeared on the web. The device is shown to be turned on on both sides. The image confirms that the OnePlus 8 Pro received a single front camera embedded in the active area of the screen in its upper left. The fingerprint sensor will be sub-screen. The perimeter of the screen is quite narrow. The main camera will include four image sensors, three of which are located in one vertical unit. The power and volume buttons are visible on the right.
According to unofficial information, the OnePlus 8 Pro should be equipped with a 6.65-inch screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a single-chip Snapdragon 865 system, as well as a 4,500 mAh battery with support for fast 30-watt charging.
An online presentation of the Redmi novelties is taking place in China these minutes, the most important of which is the flagship smartphone Redmi K30 Pro. The novelty was introduced by the head of the brand, Lu Weibing, and this is his first performance without an audience: the announcement takes place exclusively online for all the known reasons.
The top manager began his presentation with the design of the front cameras: Liu Weibing believes that the flagships of this year will not offer anything better than the front cameras embedded in the display.
In this regard, the Redmi K30 Pro compares favorably, because its front camera is hidden in the case, so before the eyes of the user there is a clean display with a thickness of the side frames of only 1.75 mm. At the same time, the front camera mechanism is more than reliable – it can withstand over 300,000 open / close cycles. The front camera uses a sensor with a resolution of 20 megapixels. Time-lapse shooting and shooting at a speed of 120 fps are also supported.
The main camera of four lenses is inscribed in a round protrusion. According to the developers, this design symbolizes the solar system. As for the color versions of the smartphone, there are four of them: gray, purple, blue and white. To change the appearance, interchangeable covers of different colors will cost $ 7 apiece.
Next, we talked about the features of the layout of the model. The fact is that the 5G module, a retractable front camera, a centered main camera and a 4700 mAh high-capacity battery needed to be somehow fitted into a relatively compact case. In addition, Redmi has previously noted that smartphones with 5G support have 2.7 times more components than conventional models. Therefore, the developers had to work hard on the layout of the motherboard. It is made in the form of a sandwich. Fortunately, there is no fingerprint scanner either on the rear panel or on the sidewall – it is built into the display (an ultra-thin optical sensor is used, not an ultrasonic one).
About the hardware component of Redmi K30 Pro was already told by Wang Teng Thomas (Wang Teng Thomas) – director of new products Xiaomi. The smartphone uses top-end components: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 platform, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash memory.
The cooling subsystem is also flagship – with an evaporation chamber (by the way, it acts as a structural element) instead of a conventional heat pipe and nine temperature sensors. Implemented fast charging – with a capacity of 33 watts. With it, the smartphone’s battery is fully charged in just 63 minutes.
Now about the camera. The Redmi K30 Pro uses sensors with a resolution of 64, 20, 13 and 8 megapixels. The main (Sony IMX686) and 8-megapixel telephoto (it is connected to a lens with a focal length of 50 mm and is also used for macro photography) – with optical stabilization. The 13-megapixel sensor is connected to an ultra-wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 123 °. “Fifty” allows you to take macro pictures almost at the level of a microscope.
Like the older brothers Mi 10, Redmi K30 Pro supports saving images in a more “economical” HEIF format. The smartphone has a special version of Redmi K30 Pro Zoom – it supports 3x optical and 30x hybrid zoom. The maximum video recording resolution is 8K.
Now a little about the display. Redmi K30 Pro is equipped with a “modified” Samsung AMOLED E3 matrix with support for HDR10 +, 800 cd / m2 brightness and 5,000,000: 1 contrast ratio. The screen occupies 92.7% of the front panel area.
Other features of the smartphone include a Bluetooth 5.1 adapter, support for Super Bluetooth and Multilink technologies, a USB-C port, a standard headphone jack and an infrared emitter, and a dual-band GPS receiver.
Prices have already been announced – and they were even very pleasant. The cost of Redmi K30 Pro in the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory starts at just $ 480. No other model in the world on the Snapdragon 865 can boast such a low price. Moreover, the model has a “standard” version (it is called – Standard Edition) at a price of only $ 425. In its configuration, 6 GB of RAM LPDDR4X and 128 GB of flash memory.
The cost of another version of Redmi K30 Pro with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory is $ 525. Cost Redmi K30 Pro Zoom: $ 540 and $ 565. Also today Redmi introduced a new smart speaker with an 8-inch screen and a large TV. And on the web, the unpacking of Redmi K30 Pro has already appeared.
Apple announced that from now on, developers have the opportunity to combine versions of the same application for different operating systems into a single purchase, which the Cupertian giant calls a universal purchase, that is, if the developer has some kind of program available on two or more operating systems Apple systems, they can be combined into one purchase in the AppStore – the user can only pay once and get all versions of the program at once. This works for all OSs: iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS. Another nuance – you can add third-party applications to the general “package”. Only one purchase can combine up to 10 programs.
For the first time, we learned that Apple was working on such an opportunity in February. Now you just have to wait for the release of iOS 13.4, which will be held today. True, it is likely that the association will take some time for the developers. It is also worth noting that obviously not all developers will want to take this opportunity, since this means less income. Moreover, on the Apple website it is indicated that after the merger, the developer will not be able to “unpack” everything back or at least remove one of the application versions from the list.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 on the Exynos 990 is in many ways worse than on the Snapdragon 865. A few days ago we were once again convinced of this. Especially impressive and frustrating is the loss in the Galaxy S20 + games on Exynos 990 of last year’s Galaxy S10 + model on the Snapdragon 855.
However, there is one scenario where the Samsung single-chip platform looks better than Qualcomm’s solution. We know that autonomy is better with the Snapdragon 865 version, but recent tests show that the screen is power-consuming the other way around. The source has conducted various tests, including determining the power consumption of the screens in the Galaxy S20 + and S20 Ultra models in versions with different platforms and in different modes (60 and 120 Hz).
As you can see, in all cases the modifications on the Exynos 990 show better results than on the Snapdragon 865. Interestingly, in the last generation, the SoC Exynos was also better in this matter. Apparently, some optimization of Samsung’s own platforms and native screens is affecting.
Unfortunately, the display is only one of the components of a smartphone, albeit one of the most “gluttonous”. As you can see, the autonomy tests of this source confirm the advantage of the versions on the Snapdragon 865, to the extent that the Galaxy S20 Ultra with this platform and the 120-Hz mode of operation of the screen is inferior to the versions with Exynos 990 and the 60-Hz mode of operation of the screen of less than 10%.
Now we know exactly when Huawei will introduce the EMUI 10.1 shell. If earlier there were only rumors and leaks indicating that the shell will debut along with the P40 and P40 Pro smartphones, now we can talk about this with confidence.
Huawei itself yesterday posted a message on Twitter saying that EMUI 10.1 will be shown in three days, that is, March 26 – on the day of the announcement of new flagship smartphones. Unfortunately, there is no clear data about what new EMUI 10.1 will bring. But, given its status, there should be a lot of changes. Earlier, there were rumors about updating GPU Turbo technology and innovations related to Huawei Mobile Services.
The web has data on the performance of the AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS hybrid processor (as part of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop), and they say that this APU successfully replaces the bundle from the Intel Core i7-10510U mobile processor and the GeForce MX250 base-level graphics adapter .
So, Ryzen 9 4900HS scored 3691 points in the 3DMark Fire Strike test: the GPU APU earned 4084 points, the central processor – 21289 points. For comparison, the GeForce MX250 in the same test as part of another laptop scored only 3651. So, Ryzen 9 4900HS is definitely not worth worrying about the graphic performance. As for the performance of the Core i7-10510U in comparison with the same APU, there is a threefold difference. However, the comparison here is not entirely correct, since the Ryzen 9 4900HS has 8 cores and supports 16 threads, while the Core i7-10510U is a quad-core model, albeit with a higher clock speed.
Today, the Redmi K30 Pro smartphone was finally introduced, which really turned out to be the cheapest device with the SoC Snapdragon 865. Moreover, this is the only smartphone with this platform costing significantly less than $ 500 if we are talking about the basic version. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Redmi K30 Pro will soon reach customers living outside of China. The Redmi K30 was introduced a few months ago, but never appeared in many markets. It is possible that Redmi K30 Pro will eventually come out under the name Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, but for now this is only an assumption. But if you want to at least feel a little like the owner of Redmi K30 Pro, you can do it now, because official wallpapers for this smartphone have got on the Network. There are only four images so far, but if you go to the official Xiaomi website, the Redmi novelty appears almost everywhere with only one of them.
Another Samsung smartphone with a huge battery has become more. Today, the Korean giant introduced the Galaxy A31, and it, like many other company news, is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. Outside, the Galaxy A31 is no different from other new Galaxy A and Galaxy M models, but there is one important difference inside. The fact is that the Galaxy A31 is, apparently, another Samsung smartphone based on the SoC MediaTek Helio P65 (aka Helio G70). In fact, Samsung did not disclose the platform model, but, firstly, early tests indicated the presence of Helio P65, and secondly, it fits the description provided by Samsung (two cores with a frequency of 2 GHz and six cores with a frequency of 1.7 GHz ) The Galaxy A30, recall, used the much less productive Exynos 7904, so in terms of growth, everything will be fine.
Also, the new smartphone received a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, 64 or 128 GB of flash memory, a 20-megapixel front camera and a main quad camera with 48, 8, 5 and 5 megapixel sensors. Of the rest, it is worth noting the 15-watt charge, dimensions of 159.3 x 73.1 x 8.6 mm with a weight of 185 g, as well as four colors: white, black, red and blue. No price data yet. Given the cost of similar models, it can be assumed that for the Galaxy A31 in the Indian market they will ask about $ 200.
Today, Redmi officially introduced the K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom smartphones, which are good for everyone except, perhaps, the screen: many users were waiting for a matrix with a frame frequency of 120 Hz, like the Redmi K30, but instead the top models received a display with a frequency of 60 Hz. Of course, immediately after the premiere, questions for developers rained down.
They were answered by the head of the brand, Liu Weibing. According to the top manager, the characteristics of the K30 and K30 Pro models were approved 10 months ago. It turns out that the rejection of the 120-Hz screen did not become a kind of hasty decision, on the contrary, everything was planned so. But just for what? According to Liu Weibing, the matter is “full-screen user experience” and autonomy. It is no secret that screens with a frame frequency above 60 Hz consume a lot of energy, while Redmi did not want to sacrifice autonomy for the sake of smoothness of the picture. It is possible that within a few months there will be software solutions to increase the frame rate, but it is unlikely that such a mechanism will be implemented at the official firmware level. Users will have to be content with a 60 Hz matrix.
