A better image of a single-chip system has appeared on the network, which will serve as the basis for the Xbox Series X game console. In addition, updated, rather detailed specifications are published. In the picture, the SoC crystal is in the center, and on three sides of it there are ten GDDR6 memory crystals. The bus width is 320 bits.
The single-chip system configuration includes an eight-core processor on the Zen 2 microarchitecture operating at a frequency of 3.8 GHz (3.6 GHz with SMT), and a GPU on a modified RDNA 2 architecture with 52 CU units, operating at a frequency of 1.825 GHz. GPU performance is rated at 12 TFLOP. The 360.45 mm2 crystal will be manufactured by TSMC using an improved 7-nanometer process technology. The console will have 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. Interestingly, the bandwidth of 10 GB will reach 560 GB / s, 6 GB – 336 GB / s. The storage will be a 1 TB custom SSD with an NVMe interface. Its throughput when transmitting without compression is declared equal to 2.4 GB / s, with compression – 4.8 GB / s. The storage can be expanded by 1 TB with a special card. There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray Drive optical drive and the ability to connect an external drive to the USB 3.2 port. The console’s performance will allow you to play games with a resolution of 4K with a refresh rate of 60-120 frames per second.
