As we have already mentioned, Samsung Display company announced the world's first expandable OLED display at the SID 2017 (Society for Information Display), which took place in Los Angeles from May 23 to May 25. Now the developer has published a video showing such a display in action. The exhibition showed a 9.1-inch version of the display. It can be stretched by 12 mm when pressed and then restored without damage. As explained by the manufacturer, unlike flexible displays that can be deformed in one direction, for example, fold, bend or twist, the expandable OLED can deform more than in two ways. According to the idea, the development will find its application on the Internet Things, wearable and automotive electronics.
