Exoplanet Proxima b may be suitable for life, according to scientists from the journal Astronomy & Astrophyics. The site Phys.org recalls that it was opened in August 2016, and by its characteristics reminds the Earth.
Scientists have created two climate models, one of which assumes the existence of a similar from the terrestrial atmosphere, and the other – a primitive atmosphere of nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Dependence on climate, duration of day and year was also taken into account. Simulation using the Met Office Unified Model, used to obtain data on the climate of our home planet, indicates the presence of liquid water and stable weather on Proxima b. Because of this, the chances for the existence of life are quite high. However, to prove this or to refute, more data and more calculations are needed, astrophysicists are sure.
