Shareholders of Yahoo !, behind one of the oldest search Internet portals, at a special meeting approved the deal with the telecommunications giant Verizon.
Marissa Mayer After the transaction, Yahoo! will change its name to Altaba. As it is known since June 2016, Verizon buys the main business of Yahoo for 4.8 billion dollars. At the same time, the company will own 15% of Alibaba shares and 35.5% of Yahoo Japan. After the necessary transients, Altaba will work as an investment company. It is expected that the sale will end on June 13, 2017. After completion of the transaction in the management of Altaba will remain only five current members of the board of directors. The rest of the board, including the current CEO, Marissa Mayer, will leave the new company.
