The Bank of Russia said that several Russian credit institutions were affected by the attack of the WannaCry coder, also known as WannaCrypt, WanaCrypt0r 2.0.
The Center for Monitoring and Responding to Computer Attacks in the Credit and Financial Sphere (FinCERT) of the Bank of Russia marked a computer attack on May 12, 2017. Following the results of the Wannacry mailing, FINCERT recorded "isolated facts of compromising" the resources of credit institutions. As noted in today's statement, FITCERT, the consequences of these incidents were eliminated as soon as possible. As one of the measures taken, the Bank of Russia began publishing on its website reports on identified cyberries and attacks on financial institutions, as well as on measures aimed at reducing the risk of information security breaches. Recall, in total, WannaCry attacks were registered in 73 countries.
