Microsoft said that the number of devices using the Windows 10 operating system every month reached 1 billion. A little more than a month ago, a hint of this appeared on the Italian site of the company, but the head site of the Windows developer then continued to insist that the round mark had not yet been reached. Today the situation has changed. A Microsoft message said:
“Today we are pleased to announce that more than one billion people have chosen Windows 10 in 200 countries, which has led to the emergence of more than one billion active devices with Windows 10. We could not have been more grateful to our customers, partners and employees for helping we get here. Every seventh person on the planet plans, creates, imagines, executes, moves, shakes and does great things with Windows 10. “
According to Microsoft estimates, Windows 10 is “the only OS for more than 80,000 models and configurations of various laptops and 2-in-1 computers from more than 1,000 different manufacturers.” 1 billion devices running Windows 10 include desktops, laptops, HoloLens Mixed Reality Glasses (which use Windows Mixed Reality) and Xbox One consoles. It’s worth adding that Microsoft initially planned to reach 1 billion devices in less than 3 years, but it took almost 5 years.
