The Chinese company BBK Electronics is among the five largest suppliers in the Russian smartphone market, as reported by Vedomosti. The sources were electronics manufacturers and employees of major electronic retail chains. Until now, few people know that BBK sells smartphones under the brands Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus. These devices in December 2019 and January 2020 occupied more than 5% of the Russian smartphone market. According to the representative of M. Video-Eldorado Valeria Andreeva, in the first two months of 2020, BBK brands accounted for more than 5% of smartphone sales in Russia in units and about 3.5% in cash.
GS Group confirms the sharp increase in smartphone sales of the above-mentioned brands owned by BBK. Vivo sold 583 thousand smartphones in 2019. The Oppo brand shipped 451 thousand smartphones in Russia in 2019, which is 6.5 times more than a year earlier. Huawei and Honor hold the first place in the Russian smartphone market with a share of about 33%, followed by Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple.
